Expleo are recruiting for a Hardware Engineer on a permanent basis who has a fierce background working with automotive infotainment based iin the West Midlands. We are looking for hardware engineers who have experience in mechanical design and have also worked within the hardware element of automotive, understanding the terms for grade review of electronic control units.


Duties and responsibilities of the Hardware Engineer –

  • Designs engineering solutions for mechanical, electronics enclosures, and EMC.
  • Technical understanding of the electronic circuit and design of electronics modules.
  • Implements parameters and test plans for new and existing designs, including validation of tolerances, Form/fit/function, shock and vibration, electromagnetic interference, safety, reliability, developing fan curves, system power measurements.
  • Act as primary technical interface to product and involve in technical customer discussions regarding ECU hardware development and technical specifications.
  • Collaborates and communicates with management, internal, and outsourced development partners regarding design status, project progress, and issue resolution.
  • Planning and delivering the technical documents, sample development and BOM release.
  • Experience in Modify and create 3D CAD models and drawings.


Experience of the Hardware Engineer –

  • Bachelors or Masters Engineering degree
  • Typically 4-6 years experience
  • UK Drivers licence is essential
  • Awareness of CAD 2D drawing and 3D model format
  • An understanding of reading electronic schematic diagrams and components
  • Awareness of development verification and production validation testing process ideally with automotive ICUs
  • Awareness of FMEA and 8D processes
  • Good IT/PC soft skills
