Distribution Sales Manager

We are working with an industry leader in the aviation sector currently on the lookout for a Business Development Manager to join their team to take authority over the ongoing management and growth of their Aviation Distributor network. Please note the position is predominantly home based after an initial training period of a few weeks, and it comes with a car/car allowance.
With over 90 years of growth and achievement, the company now employs over 65 people and provides an extensive range of electrical products and systems. They design and manufacture equipment for the Aviation and Rail industries with the flexibility to solve problems across power and distribution systems.
Reporting to the Sales Manager for their Aviation division, the successful Business Development Manager will take responsibility for managing, supporting and where necessary, growing their global distributor network. About 70% of the sales are currently via the current distributor network, but they are moving towards a distributor-only model. You will provide sales orders at profitable target levels that meet or exceed budget and communicate action plans when results differ from expectations.
It would be a slight advantage if applicants have experience selling products in Aviation or an understanding and interest in aerospace/aviation, however what’s really essential is experience of selling finished mechanical/electrical goods via distribution networks and the hunger and desire to support the business in reaching its commercial goals. You must also be happy working in a role that involves international travel as you identify and participate in relevant global industry networking events and exhibitions, and go overseas to meet partners when required. All applicants must be tech/software savvy and used to efficiently using ERP/CRM systems to manage customers, sales and processes.
