You will be responsible for managing the technical team (R&D, regulatory etc.) in developing formulas that’re on trend, to spec and following innovative industry trends
The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, with experience leading technical teams, as well as great formulation and regulatory knowledge in the personal care industry.
You will be an advocate for sustainability, with a passion for driving product development whilst also ensuring to maintain a healthy, happy and positive working environment for your team, inline with business objectives and values.
Key Responsibilities:
- Achieve technical goals outlined in the business plan.
- Uphold and embody company values daily.
- Develop new products meeting performance, quality, and cost standards.
- Manage the product lifecycle from implementation to launch and delisting.
- Maintain thorough internal and customer-facing documentation.
- Oversee raw material approval, inventory management, and delisting.
- Ensure accurate internal documentation.
- Collaborate on purchasing decisions.
- Introduce new products and formulations to manufacturing with process chemists, as well as controlling and maintaining new and existing formulas.
- Ensure all products meet regulatory and certification standards, including documentation.
- Develop and nurture team talent, strengthening the technical function.
- Implement coaching and mentoring strategies.
- Drive process improvements and enhance team knowledge and departmental interfaces.
Key Requirements:
- A scientific degree, ideally Chemistry or Cosmetic Science.
- Computer literacy with experience using MS Office packages.
- Experience leading an R&D laboratory team.
- A clear and effective communicator.
- Excellent knowledge of formulation, actives, trends and ingredients.
