Fire Safety Officer


Goodman Masson are working with a Housing Association in Cambridgeshire to recruit for an interim Fire Safety Officer.


Rate: £400-£500 per day (negotiable, depending on experience)

Duration: 6 months +


The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Conducting regular full fire risk assessments across the housing portfolio (including several high-rise buildings), ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and best practices
  • Developing, implementing, and monitoring fire safety policies and procedures
  • Providing expert advice and guidance to staff and residents on fire safety matters
  • Coordinating and overseeing fire safety training and drills for employees and residents
  • Liaising with external agencies, including fire services, to ensure effective fire safety management
  • Investigating fire incidents and implementing corrective actions to prevent reoccurrences
  • Keeping up-to-date with changes in fire safety legislation and standards


The successful candidate will have:

  • Proven experience in fire safety, preferably within social housing
  • Relevant fire safety qualifications (e.g., NEBOSH Fire Certificate, Level 3 Fire Safety Certificate)
  • Comprehensive understanding of fire safety legislation, regulations, and best practices
