The successful candidate will be responsible for driving project success by ensuring that all necessary preparatory activities are completed to a high standard, leading to a successful FID.


Key Responsibilities:

Project Strategy and Planning:

  • Develop and implement the strategic vision for solar projects, ensuring alignment with the company's overall renewable energy goals.
  • Lead the identification and assessment of potential solar project opportunities, including site selection, resource assessment, and market analysis.
  • Oversee the development of comprehensive project plans, timelines, and budgets that ensure successful progression to FID.


Technical and Financial Oversight:

  • Lead technical feasibility studies, ensuring that projects are designed to meet technical, environmental, and economic criteria.
  • Oversee the financial modeling and analysis of projects, working closely with the finance team to ensure robust financial planning and risk management.
  • Collaborate with procurement teams to develop strategies for sourcing equipment and securing contracts with vendors.


Regulatory and Compliance:

  • Ensure all projects comply with local, state, and federal regulations, including environmental, zoning, and land use requirements.
  • Lead the permitting process, ensuring that all necessary approvals are obtained in a timely manner.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, policy changes, and technological advancements that could impact project development.


Final Investment Decision Preparation:

  • Ensure all aspects of project development are completed and documented to meet FID requirements.
  • Present project details, risks, and opportunities to the executive team and investors to secure approval for FID.
  • Transition projects seamlessly from pre-FID development to the construction phase, ensuring all necessary handovers are completed.


Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Renewable Energy, Environmental Science, Business, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).


Experience:

  • 10+ years of experience in project management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the renewable energy sector, preferably solar.
  • Proven track record of leading large-scale solar projects through the development phase to FID.
  • Experience in managing multi-disciplinary teams and complex stakeholder relationships.
