They have tasked us with attracting and recruiting a Senior Engineer with civils and highways experience who can do the following:



Key Responsibilities



  • Undertake day to day setting out duties with no supervision
  • Train, manage and mentor Junior Engineers
  • Manage and monitor all site sample / performance testing requirements and maintain records in line with the contract specification.
  • Complete hazard / risk assessments and method statements.
  • Manage the site service plans/ drawings. Issue permits accordingly.
  • Assist the site QS / Project Manager with providing the relevant information for records and claims purposes.
  • Monitor and control temporary works.
  • Develop and maintain relations with client, suppliers and sub-contractors.
  • Ensure all work complies with quality, safety and environmental policies and the requirements of the company procedures



Skills Required



  • We are seeking a proactive problem solver, a confident communicator, with the ability to liaise effectively with a range of other professionals.
  • The ideal candidate for this Senior Engineer role must have good and extensive setting out experience working on infrastructure projects including highways, roads and earthworks.
  • Must be capable of working with Leica/Geomax equipment and transferring information from AutoCAD to the surveying equipment.
  • Good understanding of ITPs and quality assurance process.
  • Should have good leadership skills and understanding of construction practices.
  • Due to the nature of the role a full UK driving license is essential and the successful candidate will be happy to travel throughout our Eastern region
  • A First Aid at Work qualification would also be desirable.
