As National Account Manager for a major cosmetics brand, you will be responsible for managing one of their key retail customers in the Grocery channel. The primary goal of the role is to achieve commercial objectives and ensure that the account’s performance meets or exceeds set targets. You will develop comprehensive account strategies, drive the customer portfolio to enhance distribution channels, implement effective promotions, and ensure strong presence at points of sale (POS).


Additionally, you will maintain a competitive edge in the market and work to achieve market share objectives through strategic initiatives. This position is a 12-month Fixed Term Contract.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Sales Strategy Execution: Implement customer investment and sales strategies to meet both short- and long-term objectives.
  • Planning: Develop annual, medium, and long-term plans to achieve brand, category, and customer goals.
  • Customer Portfolio Management: Oversee customer portfolio through distribution, promotions, and POS presence to remain competitive and achieve market share targets.
  • Brand Performance: Manage the sales mix of the brand portfolio at the customer level to meet sales, margins, and contribution goals.
  • Pricing & Promotions: Implement agreed customer list price and execute the customer promotion plan while analysing promotional activities.
  • Performance Monitoring: Track delivery against customer plan objectives, focusing on product distribution and POS display.
  • Relationship Building: Maintain strong business relationships with customers.
  • Forecasting: Ensure delivery of agreed monthly or quarterly business forecasts, maximizing return on investment and achieving margin delivery.


Required Skills & Experience:


  • FMCG Background: Previous experience in a similar role within the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector is essential, either non-food or food.
  • Strategic Thinking & Problem Solving: You’ll need to create and implement account strategies while managing conflicts and overcoming challenges.
  • Sales & Negotiation Skills: Proven experience in negotiation, managing sales, and delivering on customer targets.
