Procurement Specialist (IT) - 6 month contract


Location:

Edinburgh (hybrid working, min 2 days in the office)


Overview:

A leading global research firm are seeking a Procurement Specialist with a background in Tier 1 I.T purchasing for a 6 month contractor position (outside IR35).


Duties:

  • Supporting the Procurement Director develop procurement strategies, policies, procedures, and associated information management.
  • Responsible for strategic sourcing – negotiating renewals and new deals with IT Software/Hardware provider
  • Ownership of contract renewals within key category areas and actively looking to negotiate improved commercial terms and to reduce exposure to RPI / CPI risks.
  • Proactively supporting with the enhancement of team documentation and reporting.
  • Proactively supporting and enabling Procurement colleagues through sharing information, best practices, lessons learned; and mentoring less experienced Procurement staff.


We require:

  • Excellent negotiations skills, demonstrable evidence of negotiating with Tier 1 providers.
  • +5 years IT procurement experience.
  • CIPS/IaCCM certified a nice to have
  • Excellent Stakeholder management - Proactively working with senior stakeholders to both influence and challenge to deliver the best outcomes.
  • Organisational skills and tenacity.


Rate: Circa £525 per day (outside IR35)
