Salary: Up to £38994pa + Bens


Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and methodical Technical Author to produce and maintain technical documentation for our European Engineering Team. This role reports to the Team Leader/Senior Design Manager and focuses on creating and updating operating and maintenance manuals, detail specifications, and spare parts lists.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain Operating Manuals, Maintenance Manuals, Detail Specifications, and spare parts lists.
  • Manage internal technical documents, including assembly instructions, machine manuals, and CE technical files.
  • Ensure all documentation meets company standards and is delivered within set timelines.

Qualifications

  • HNC/HND qualification or equivalent in an engineering-related subject.
  • Excellent written English and strong literacy skills.
  • Computer literate, with attention to detail and a methodical approach.
  • Strong team player, capable of working independently under pressure to meet deadlines.

Desirable Skills

  • Engineering background, ideally with machine tool experience.
  • Technical writing experience within an engineering environment.
  • Familiarity with CAD systems (CATIA Composer/CREO Illustrate preferred).
  • Basic knowledge of French and German.
  • Proficiency with graphic tools (Photoshop, PaintShop) and Microsoft Office (especially Word) and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
