Role: Litigation Manager

Reports to: Directors

Location: Liverpool City Centre

Hours of work: 35 hours per week


We are looking for a Litigation Manager (5+ years litigation experience) to join one of our leading clients.


The successful candidate will be supervising a team made up of Solicitors/Fee Earners, Trainee Solicitors and Legal Assistants. The department is made up of mainly Housing Disrepair matters but does include Personal Injury, Japanese Knotweed and Data Breach claims. Experience in these areas is not essential as full training will be provided.


The role will include but is not limited to:

* Lead and manage solicitors/fee earners in running a variety of civil litigation claims.

* Develop and implement litigation strategies to achieve successful outcomes

* Ensure compliance with legal regulations and requirements.

* Supervise and support team members to maintain a productive and efficient working environment.

* Checking and signing off on Court documents and draft letters.

* Ensuring compliance with and having knowledge of the relevant pre-action protocols and CPR.

* Conducting supervisor reviews on files and providing feedback.

* Assisting in motivating the team to hit settlement/billing targets.

* Ensuring professionalism throughout the team.

* Reviewing and monitoring complex files within the team.

* Monitor and review the departments performance, providing KPI reports to Directors and identifying areas for improvement.

* Conduct team meetings and training sessions.

* Review team capacity and staffing requirements.


Key skills/requirements for this role are:

* Excellent knowledge and understanding of the Civil Procedure Rules.

* Ability to research and understand relevant protocols, case law and legislative changes and effectively communicate any changes to the team.

* Strong litigation and advocacy skills.

* Positive and enthusiastic attitude with the ability to motivate team members.

* Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.

* Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

* Strategic thinking.

* 5+ years litigation experience handling fast track and/or multi-track claims.

Competitive salary dependent on experience, starting at £50,000 per year.
