The Role / Your Remit


Once you have established an understanding of Drupal, its best practices & coding standards alongside our internal processes and Git Workflow, you will be eased into project development under the guidance of the Development Manager and Project Leads. Within projects, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with various teams consisting of Senior Drupal Developers, Project Managers, DevOps, and QAs to further expand your knowledge and experience.


Your typical day might include:


  • Engaging in project sprints and implementing new features according to project requirements
  • Participating in daily stand-up meetings with clients and project teams
  • Communicating issues, answering questions and implementing solutions under the guidance of a Project Lead
  • Collaborating with the Service Desk team to handle support tasks, including addressing client bugs and updating/upgrading Core versions and Contrib modules
  • Ensuring that all code adheres to Drupal’s best practices and coding standards
  • Documenting features for clarity and future reference
  • Troubleshooting and debugging issues as they arise


Mandatory requirements


  • You MUST be based in the UK, ideally within regular commuting distance of our Hertford office
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is essential.
  • Ideally a bachelor’s degree in a subject with an IT, numerate, engineering or science focus (e.g. Computer Science, Physics, Engineering, Maths or related) or demonstrable experience where you have independently undertaken a complex problem and achieved success
  • You MUST have a VISA or work permit already
  • You MUST NOT apply through a recruitment consultant as your application will be disregarded


Skills and experience we’re looking for


  • Hands-on experience in a programming language, ideally PHP, and MySQL
  • Familiarity of working with the command line on Linux based environments
  • Familiarity and some practical experience with Git for source control
  • A logical and analytical approach to problem solving
  • Excellent communication
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment as well as independently
  • Proven ability to actively listen, learn from feedback, and apply new knowledge.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines without compromising quality


Expectations


This is a hybrid working role, with the flexibility to work remotely some of the time, but with an expectation that you’ll be based at our Hertford office at least two days per week.
