Key Responsibilities:
- Membership Administration:
- Process new membership applications, renewals, and cancellations.
- Maintain and update the membership database, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
- Handle membership queries, providing timely and professional responses via telephone, email, and in person.
- Prepare and send membership invoices and renewal reminders.
- Member Engagement and Retention:
- Support initiatives to engage both current and prospective members.
- Assist in organising member events, networking opportunities, and other activities.
- Monitor member satisfaction and gather feedback to continuously improve membership services.
- Develop and implement retention strategies to ensure high renewal rates.
- Communication and Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain positive relationships with members, acting as the first point of contact for all membership-related matters.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure consistent and relevant communication with members.
- Contribute content to membership newsletters, updates, and promotional materials.
- Reporting and Analysis:
- Monitor membership trends and provide regular reports to management.
- Analyse membership data to identify opportunities for growth and areas for improvement.
- Assist in budget management for membership initiatives and events.
- Operational Support:
- Support the Membership Manager in delivering membership projects and campaigns.
- Assist in the planning and execution of member events, including logistics, registration, and follow-up.
- Handle ad hoc tasks related to membership operations as required.
Person Specification:
Essential:
- Previous experience in a membership role or a customer service/administrative role in a similar environment.
- Strong administrative and organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Proven ability to manage and maintain databases with high levels of accuracy.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and membership management software/CRM systems.
Desirable:
- Experience working within a membership organisation, charity, or professional association.
- Knowledge of membership marketing strategies and best practices.
- Event management experience.
- Familiarity with London’s business, professional, or community networks.
