We have an opportunity for a Development Underwriter to work with a leading MGA. The Development Underwriter is a pivotal role for the business in underwriting risks across a diverse range of trades. With premiums varying from £250 to over £150k, you will leverage your expertise to deliver tailored solutions to clients with an average policy premium of £6,000 to £7,000.


Our client, a leading MGA specializing in Property and Liability business, representing A-rated carriers. With rapid growth and a strong market presence, they offer a vibrant work environment across their London, Manchester, and Essex offices. The Development Underwriter will be part of a dedicated team of over 20 professionals committed to excellence and mutual success.


We are looking for the following experience for the role of Development Underwriter;


  • DIP CII
  • Property and Liability underwriting experience
  • MGA (ideally) or broker experience
  • Risk selection, identification, management and reporting
  • Pricing


In this role, you will be responsible for risk selection, pricing, negotiation, risk management, and maintaining high service standards. Key requirements include a DIP CII qualification or significant progress, experience in underwriting Property and Liability insurance, strong analytical skills, and a customer-centric focus.
