Role Description

The role of Business and Economics Teacher at OOS is a part-time, salaried position with 22.5 contracted working hours per week remunerated at 18,000GBP per annum. You will be responsible for planning and facilitating engaging lessons in International A Level Business and International A Level Economics, International GCSE Business and International GCSE Economics, and some teaching responsibilities in KS3 Global Citizenship and Geography economic related subject weeks, teaching according to the Edexcel iLowerSecondary curriculum. The role involves creating comprehensive lesson plans, delivering interactive classes, providing individualised support to students, assigning homeworks, tailoring tasks to student's individual ability level, assessing their progress, and some curriculum development tasks for OOS. Total confirmed lesson hours for the 24/25 academic year start at 10 hours per week.


Qualifications

  • Degree in Economics or a related combined Economics degree
  • Evidence of studying Economics at the university level (undergraduate or postgraduate)
  • QTS or PGCE a plus
  • Knowledge of and experience within the British curricular system, specifically the secondary curriculum
  • Teaching experience at university but not secondary is not acceptable
  • Experience in teaching/tutoring Economics of at least 2 years, and Business if possible
  • Experience in LMS usage, lesson planning, and educational content creation
  • Strong communication skills
  • Knowledge of AI, coding, and edtech systems a plus
  • Experience in online teaching a plus


Candidates must have experience in teaching and studying Economics. Teaching in only Business and not Economics is not acceptable background for this position.
