To provide effective quality control from goods inwards inspection through to the final inspection stage by ensuring that the capture, reporting and resolution of all quality related non-conformities is undertaken in an efficient and timely manner.


Maintaining and updating the company Quality Assurance database (NCR) with the overall target objective of reducing both internal and external non-conformities. Liaising with the supplier quality engineer and other stakeholders to communicate quality defects affecting production, with timely resolution. Providing QA data to support implementation of corrective actions with the support of the manufacturing engineering team.


Main Duties:


  • Maintain a 100% inspection level on all finished products leaving the production area.
  • Develop and run a strategic Goods Inwards QA inspection process to ensure incoming materials meet required drawings and specifications, whilst ensuring continuity of supply to production.
  • Recording of all NCR’s (Non-conformities) and development of associated reporting structure to enable QA related issues to be clearly identified, tracked, and resolved in a timely manner.
  • Clear communication of all QA related issues, both internally and externally, with the objective of gaining a swift resolution to non-conformities and develop broader product knowledge through use of RCA and other similar techniques.
  • Review and develop task specific work instructions in conjunction with Product development and Production support.
  • Conduct periodic reviews of shop floor work instructions to ensure they are kept up to date.
  • Supporting the Purchasing Team / Supplier quality engineer to review supplier metrics with the target of improving supplier performance/ parts delivery into factory.
  • Feedback of quality data to production teams by means of regular meetings to include team leaders and supervisors, highlighting areas for improvement.
  • Provide information for quarterly reports on QA performance.
  • Uphold Company HSE standards and involvement in on-site H&S audits.
  • Ability to travel and visit suppliers and conduct both internal and external QA audits as required.
  • Support in Final Inspection and moulding inspection as required.
  • Self-motivated with excellent time management skills and able to work independently as well as part of a team to achieve targets, you will have a keen eye for detail which will enable you identify potential quality related issues.
  • Working closely with Purchasing, Production and Technical depts, you will apply a systematic approach to clearly communicate quality information and work with production engineers to resolve quality related issues.


Qualifications and Experience

  • Relevant business/commercial or manufacturing/engineering degree preferred, or ONC, A Levels, BTec Diploma Level 4 or equivalent NVQ. Level 4 qualification
  • Minimum of five years previous experience in similar QA role within a fast-moving production environment.
  • Membership of professional body would be advantageous.
  • Professional qualifications would be an advantage.
  • Computer literate in MS Office and Adobe software as well as SAP.
  • Experience with QMS procedures.
  • Able to read engineering drawings.
  • Problem solving skills such as 6S or 8D.
  • Understanding and experience of robust QA procedures
  • Strong knowledge and application of FAIR, PPAP & FMEA.
  • Knowledge of ISO9000
  • Understanding of ISO14001 and Health and Safety practices
  • Understanding of engineering drawings and manufacturing processes
  • Ability to work in a diverse and dynamic environment.
  • Strong Planning and prioritising skills with methodical approach.
