We are seeking a skilled and versatile Site Plumber and General Handy Person to join our team at Bude. This role involves performing scheduled maintenance, diagnosing and repairing plumbing and heating systems, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards. The successful candidate will work both independently and as part of a team to maintain high standards across our facilities.
Main Duties:
- Planned Preventative Maintenance: Perform scheduled maintenance on plumbing and heating systems, including:
- Restroom facilities: hand wash basins, urinals, toilets, sinks, and showers.
- Plant and equipment services: humidifiers, header tanks, fire hydrant systems, water pumps.
- Water heaters: point of use, multipoint, hydro boilers.
- Other systems: reduced pressure zone valves, guttering, drainage, storm drains, foul waste systems, grease traps, sewage plants (Klargester Biodisc).
- Repairs and Diagnostics: Diagnose and repair both simple and complex issues with all water services on site.
- Compliance and Monitoring: Adhere to L8 requirements and undertake monitoring and maintenance tasks in accordance with HSG274 parts 2 and 3.
- Support and Teamwork: Assist supervisors, managers, and other team members with maintenance tasks beyond the site water systems as needed.
- Health and Safety: Understand and work to site-specific risk assessments, ensuring high levels of adherence to health and safety policies.
- Professional Standards: Ensure tasks are completed to a professional standard within agreed timeframes, with all associated reporting and documentation completed.
What We Are Looking For:
- Qualifications: City and Guilds 6035 level 2 or 3.
- Skills:
- Ability to work at height and in confined spaces.
- Understanding of minor electrical circuitry and safety.
- Familiarity with working in a facilities management contract environment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Understanding of the requirements and associated guidance from L8.
- Good understanding of Windows operating system and Microsoft Office applications.
- Familiarity with working with a CAFM/CMMS system.
