About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced NPD Lead to join a dynamic food processing organization specializing in fresh and chilled products for leading retail businesses across the UK. The primary purpose of this role is to create innovative recipes and ensure their successful transition from the kitchen to the factory, all while meeting customer specifications through an efficient manufacturing process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret project briefs to align with customer expectations and company business objectives.
  • Stay informed about current market trends and factors influencing consumer choices.
  • Adjust existing recipes and processes or develop new systems as needed to meet business requirements.
  • Manage multiple projects from concept to launch, adhering to strict timelines and ensuring all associated documentation is in order.
  • Oversee key accounts, managing customer presentations and preparing product samples, recipes, presentation booklets, and photographic portfolios.
  • Collaborate and attend meetings with internal and external stakeholders to support business development efforts.
  • Assist with projects aimed at facilitating future new product development (NPD).
  • Lead by example, adhering to company policies related to food safety, health, safety, and attendance.
  • Undertake additional duties as required within the scope of the role.

Essential Criteria:

  • A third-level qualification in food science, technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in new product development within food manufacturing.
  • Proficient in IT, particularly in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills.
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to collaborate with cross-functional teams and present information clearly.
  • Ability to engage and communicate effectively at all levels.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Relevant post-graduate qualification.
  • Experience in new product development within the chilled fresh food industry.
