The Opportunity:


Our client, a top 50 law firm based in Manchester city centre, is seeking an experienced Costs Draftsperson to join their dynamic Costs team. This role, based in their Manchester office, offers the flexibility of hybrid working with up to two days remote per week. Join a firm renowned for its commitment to both client satisfaction and staff development.



The Role:


As a Costs Draftsperson, you will manage a diverse caseload primarily focused on Claimant Personal Injury matters. Your responsibilities will encompass drafting Bills of Costs, Replies, Points of Dispute, Costs Budgets, and Negotiations, along with providing expert advice on a variety of cases, including Personal Injury, Clinical Negligence, Court of Protection, Commercial, and Solicitor/Client issues.




Key Responsibilities:


  • Delivering timely and efficient services to clients.
  • Communicating professionally and courteously with clients.
  • Upholding high service standards and ensuring client satisfaction.
  • Managing your caseload from inception to completion.
  • Staying informed on costs law and the Civil Procedure Rules.
  • Handling a wide range of cases, including drafting Bills of Costs, Replies, Points of Dispute, Costs Budgets, Negotiations, and providing expert advice.




Candidate Requirements:


  • Proven experience with Claimant Personal Injury work.
  • Expertise in drafting Bills of Costs and negotiating in Personal Injury cases.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with team members at all levels.

  • Hybrid working model – office-based with up to 2 days remote per week.
  • Minimum of 25 days' annual leave (increasing with service) plus office closure between Christmas and New Year.
