About the Role:
As a Data Scientist, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of medical diagnostics. You’ll collaborate across clinical, scientific, and software development teams to design and implement automated data processing and machine learning algorithms. Your primary focus will be on signal processing, particularly working with time series data, and developing innovative methods to analyze infrared spectroscopic data alongside clinical information.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and optimize machine learning models, including XGBoost and deep learning approaches, to process complex IR and medical data.
- Collaborate with scientific and clinical teams to plan experiments, collect real-world data, and deliver key analyses that drive product direction.
- Contribute to the product's software development life cycle by writing production-level code.
- Design and develop insightful data visualizations to communicate complex findings to stakeholders.
- Assist in managing patent portfolio by identifying new patents in collaboration with the CTO and patent attorneys.
Qualifications:
Essential:
- 3+ years of experience in data science roles (industry)
- Proficiency in Python, including libraries such as scikit-learn, TensorFlow/PyTorch, and pandas/numpy.
- Experience with machine learning models, particularly XGBoost, and familiarity with traditional statistical methods.
- Strong background in signal processing, with experience in time series data—experience with medical or biological data is a plus.
- Familiarity with AWS or similar cloud environments.
- Strong communication skills, able to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
Desirable:
- PhD in a quantitative discipline (e.g., statistics, computer science, biomedical engineering).
- Experience with chemometric or spectroscopic data analytics methods.
- Familiarity with software engineering practices and deployment systems like CI/CD.
