Senior Quality Engineer - £50,000/Year - North Yorkshire - Aerospace and Defence

Role: Senior Quality Engineer
Location: North Yorkshire (Full-time onsite)
Working Hours: Monday to Thursday 830am - 430pm ; Friday 8am – 1pm
Salary: Up to £50,000/Year + Benefits
I am looking for a senior quality engineer to join a leading manufacturer of composites within the aerospace and marine industries. You will be working in a collaborative team that specialise within bespoke one-off designs and low-volume manufacture of specialist mission-critical parts. This position will be focused towards stakeholder management, but requires a background within engineering.
They are an independent family-owned UK company with a rich history and diverse business portfolio. Their passion to drive technology forward sustainably for the armed-forces as well as the distribution industry, places them in an exciting position as they grow in this next phase of development.
Key Responsibilities:
Support Business Development by reviewing requests for quotations and contracts to ensure they fulfil all customer and regulatory requirements.Actively engage in project meetings to identify and advise on potential quality concerns.Ensure that all management system documentation is compliant.Produce and maintain quality plans for new projects, where needed.Identify and conduct audit requirements (internal and supplier / subcontractor) and capture these in the audit schedule to ensure complianceSupport project non-conformance recovery and closure through defined QMS procedures.Support NCR activities, MRB meetings and customer complaint resolution to ensure root cause is established and containment /corrective actions are
completed in a timely manner to resolve any quality deficiencies raised.Conducting visits when required.Identify and present opportunities for improvement, including advising and training of personnel in matters of quality, regulation and industry best practice.Compile and present quality / status reports on projects with relevant KPIs.Conducting Customer Investigations and Liaising with customer representatives and assisting production departments with quality matters.Processing applications for the granting and renewal of personnel approvals, prior to submission to the Head of Quality
Requirements:
Manufacturing / aerospace environment experience (ideal)Emphasis on stakeholder managementWorking with AS9100 and/or ISO 9001 standards.Experience of the implementation of quality tools and techniques relating to production controls and design assurance (e.g. FMEA)Continuous improvement knowledgeProactive and pragmatic approach to problem solvingAbility to work inboth specialist quality and integrated product teamsHold a full UK driving license.Willing to visit Customer/Supplier, ad hoc meetings.Have the correct right to work, without expiry. Sponsorship is not available with this clientAble to complete security clearance
