Our client is an investor backed manufacturing business with ambitious growth plans. We are working closely with the management team as they embark on an operational and financial reboot to ensure they are set up for success.

As part of this process, they would like to engage an Interim Finance Director with experience of creating up a best-in-class finance function from scratch.


Duties will include:


  • Setting up Xero, an MRP tool and educating team to manage this within a controlled environment
  • Building an integrated P&L, Balance Sheet and rolling 13-week cash flow forecast;
  • Embedding pre-authorisation controls for fixed and variable expenditure, banking and payments;
  • Stock control and stock reporting;
  • Manage all aspects of bookkeeping and to introduce effective monthly management accounts and timely reporting
  • Create costing, pricing and quotation rules and operational process;
  • Setting up trading terms and conditions with customers and suppliers;
  • Work closely with the executive team helping them to focus on commercial activities and to prioritise activities within the management plan;
  • Set up appropriate daily, weekly & monthly KPIs and reporting with Executives & NEDs to ensure appropriate review and action processes exist quickly;
  • Act as responsible member of the leadership team.


You will be a qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA or ACMA) with experience of working within a start-up environment ideally manufacturing or production of commercial products. You will have strong attention to detail and be curious to understand process and be able to articulate the impact of keen pricing on margin. You will be comfortable working with a newly formed management team and be able to guide them in their decision making and critical thinking.
