About the Company

Escape Recruitment are working with their Manufacturing client based in East Kilbride to recruit a CMM Operator.


About the Role

The role will be working in a final inspection department using calibrated mechanical measuring devices as well as CMM measuring equipment for quality inspection of complex products and manufactured components.


Responsibilities

  • Inspect and approves incoming materials by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, and rejecting and returning unacceptable materials.
  • Approves finished products by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, and returning products for re-work.
  • Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs, summarises re-work and waste, and inputs data into a quality database.
  • Keeps measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions, and calibration requirements and calling for repairs.


Additional Skills and Experience

Experience Requirements:

  • Competent in using measuring devices such as Height gauges, Go/No-go gauges, Vernier calipers, surface roughness gauges and other hand-measuring instruments
  • Written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic maths and computing skills
  • Engineering/CAD drawing understanding


Experience on Mitutoyo CMM with MCOSMOS programming would be beneficial.

At least 2 years’ experience working within a final inspection environment
