Job Title: PE Instructor with Public Services
Location: Smallbrook School, Shrewsbury
Salary: Starting at £26,000.00 per annum (negotiable based upon experience/qualifications)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Contract: Permanent Term Time only
We are looking for an Instructor to join our fantastic team at Smallbrook School near Shrewsbury. You will take a creative approach to teaching pupils according to their educational needs, ensuring delivery of the school curriculum in a way that maximises children’s achievement and ability to develop.
About us
Smallbrook School is an SEMH specialist provision which caters for up to 50 students working in groups of up to 3 students per class from 7 - 18 years of age. Our teachers are not overburdened by marking and our emphasis is on outstanding planning in a nurturing environment and building strong relationships with our students.
Our School is based halfway between Shrewsbury and Wem in Shropshire.

Purpose
- To ensure that the special educational needs of pupils are met by providing a consistent and efficient service congruent with the organisation’s aim, objectives and philosophy
- To provide high quality educational services that meet the needs of young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN) / Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs (SEMH)
- To deliver an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated curriculum for pupils with SEN, working to a range of qualification levels to include; BTEC Level 1 and 2. National Curriculum for KS2 and KS3
- To flexibly adapt teaching methods for lessons taught in groups, paired, 1:1 and outreach sessions. Utilising extensive knowledge and experience bases in working with young people with SEN / SEMH to adjust teaching styles to meet individual learner needs
- To know, understand and role model OFG’s cultural and behavioural expectations as leading provider of therapeutic childcare and employer of choice
- To know, understand and promote OFG’s service delivery as a leading provider of therapeutic childcare, as a commercial ambassador for the company
