Their portfolio ranges from fundamental biological research to developing innovative vaccines, biologic drugs, and novel cell and gene therapies. Their job is to supply the tools and services - the pots, pans, soups and sauces - they need to work better, faster and safer, leading to better patient outcomes.


Role purpose / summary

Our globally recognised client are seeking a Biomarker Chemist to work at their Cardiff Site. Do you have a passion for developing the next generation of purification technology? If so, then our client would love to hear from you.


What you’ll do:

Responsible for carrying out synthesis and analysis of the biomarker product range, according to the approved process methods, to meet required specifications for our customers.

Maintaining a safe & tidy working environment within the lab, supporting activities like; solvent replenishment and bay cleaning and daily shut down.

Complete QC analysis via HPLC, UV/Visible spectrometry and fluorescence spectroscopy to confirm product meets quality standards required.

Raise Quality & Safety concerns via the appropriate reporting channels, and work with QA & Team Leader to support any investigations, CAPAs that maybe required.

Carry out all work in accordance with the established client EHS and QMS policies, raising any concerns promptly


Key Skills/ requirements

BSc in related scientific field or equivalent years experience in chemical/laboratory based environment

Experience in gram scale Organic chemistry techniques such as; manual Column chromatography, Schlenk lines, setting up reaction equipment, rotary evaporation and the required in process analysis. (TLCs, UV & HPLC)

Thrives working in a team environment

Strong analytical and mathematical skills

Confident in use of email, excel, word, Powerpoint.

Continuous Improvement mindset

Able to organise and balance multiple activities during the day/week
