Role: Engineering Manager - Electronics

Location: Bedford UK

Salary: £65-75,000 dependent on experience


We are searching for an Engineering Manager to manage a small, friendly and growing team at the forefront in designing and producing environmental monitoring devices.

If you have experience in a similar electronics field plus management/leadership experience, we'd love to hear from you.

In this role you will manage a cross functional development team to provide both New Product Development and existing product continuation engineering, delivering sustainable, profitable and innovative technology enhancing our class beating range of products.


Education - Essential

  • Bachelor degree level in a relevant engineering discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • Leadership qualification Level 5 or above.
  • Quality assurance auditor trained CQI-IRCA ISO 9001:2015 or similar is desired


Required Experience

  • Demonstrate Engineering & design skills necessary to develop leading edge products with minimal & controlled risk.
  • Minimum of 5 years of broad experience of electronics, firmware, software, mechanical design, sensing & measurement technologies.
  • Conversant with technical principles, technologies, product requirements, and engineering best practices.
  • Technical project lead and project management.
  • Experience in achieving product certification through self-certification or using a third-party.


Desired Experience

  • Technical and managing experience spanning analog / digital electronics, mechanical engineering, software, firmware & materials.
  • Experience of I.S product approvals.
  • Experience of adopting an Agile type of project management approach, including the use of Jira (or equivalent).
  • Knowledge of Design for Manufacturability, Design of Experiments, Design for Six Sigma, Lean Design and FMEA are desired.
