About the Company: This is an exciting opportunity to lead high value tenders and developing the category strategy for a variety of complex procurement projects. These are strategic sourcing events that require innovative supply chain thinking.


The role is based from the midlands HQ up to 2 days per week, with occasional travel to other national sites when required, and will offer hybrid working.


About you


You will possess strong commercial acumen and procurement skillset and act as the procurement lead and project manager through to contract award, supporting or leading a tender team of internal subject matter experts to deliver a high quality outcome.


You will also possess the following experiences;


· Ideally a graduate with experience of managing strategic tender events.

· Ideally understand regulated procurement environments (OJEU/UCR, etc).

· Ability to communicate effectively at all levels and with senior supplier leadership teams.

· Track record of driving value beyond straightforward procurement savings.

· Knowledge of lean techniques to identify opportunities in the extended value chain.

· Excellent project management skills.

· Influencing and negotiation skills to drive optimum contract value.


Your role


· Develop strategic relationships with key stakeholders and suppliers.

· Develop insights to input into the category management process, through research and analysis of supply markets, whilst keeping up to date with developments and emerging supplier trends.

· Procurement sourcing lead for 1-2 strategic tenders at a time, identifying the best sourcing strategies, and leading events from market engagement through to contract award.

· Project management of strategic tenders, keeping the sourcing team on track through communication and maintenance of key project management documentation.

· Maintaining knowledge of policies and frameworks for contract and supplier management.
