We have an exciting opportunity for a senior care coordinator to join our domiciliary care service at Cherished Home Care. Working alongside an experienced care manager, you will support the growth of our new hourly care service across the home counties. You will collaborate with a dedicated team to uphold governance and ensure the quality of homecare services, supported by the care manager and registered manager. This role is office based, but will require you to travel to client assessments and reviews in Reading, Woking and Basingstoke. Travel expenses will be covered, but due to the location of our clients, you must be a driver with your own transport. As Cherished Home Care is a new business, our client base is currently expanding.

About the role:

As a senior care coordinator you will be responsible for the following:

  • Manage and maintain the administration of the carer workers in line with the standards across multiple sites, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements, particularly CQQ standards with the support of the Care Manager
  • Monitor and manage a team of carers, overseeing absence and holiday management, and providing mentoring to uphold standards of excellence and professionalism
  • Support ongoing training and development initiatives within the team to enhance skills and competencies
  • Manage daily, weekly, and monthly scheduling of care workers, ensuring adequate coverage to meet client needs.Manage carer placements effectively to optimise career satisfaction and retention stability
  • Provide support to ensure continuity of care services by arranging coverage for absences of care staff when required
  • Promote a positive employment experience for carers, fostering a culture of professional engagement, recognition, and support
  • Maintain accurate records related to carer workers, clients, and service delivery, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with data protection regulations
  • Perform administrative tasks related to billing and payroll, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in processing. Training can be provided
  • Liaise with finance or accounting departments as needed to resolve any billing or payroll issues
  • Address any concerns or challenges related to placements promptly and proactively
  • Be part of the on-call rota during the week and occasionally on weekends


About you:

It’s essential you have proven experience in administration and as a care coordinator - ideally within home care. You will also have good knowledge of regulatory requirements, particularly CQC standards. Previous experience of supporting teams in the care sector is also a must. You might have been an experienced care coordinator looking to develop your care skills. As there will be some travel involved you’ll also need to be a driver with your own car.


We are looking for the following skills and experience:

  • Minimum of two years experience as a care coordinator
  • In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements, particularly CQQ standards, within the health and social care sector
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively coordinate and manage a diverse team of carers
  • Proven interpersonal skills to mentor, motivate, and support team members.Ability to foster a positive and collaborative work culture
  • Capability to prioritise and manage multiple responsibilities effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accuracy in administrative tasks
  • Excellent organisational abilities, including the capacity to create and manage schedules efficiently
  • IT literate with proficiency in Google Suites , Excel, and ability to utilise laptop and tablet functions effectively


Desirable:

  • Medical Profession Experience: Previous roles within the medical profession, related to homecare services
  • Qualifications: Care sector-related qualification at a minimum of Level 3, or willing to work towards Health & Social Care Level 3 or higher


Essential

  • Valid Driving licence, willingness to travel between areas. Mileage is paid for travel from base location
