Are you a skilled IT professional looking to take on a dynamic role? Partou UK is seeking a dedicated IT Support & Infrastructure Specialist to join our team. You will play a key role in delivering efficient and effective IT support and infrastructure management across our UK Group. This remote role requires travel to our nurseries and Nursery Support Centres in Manchester and Northampton.

You will provide first-line IT support to nurseries and central support colleagues via our IT helpdesk. Additionally, you will support our operational IT infrastructure and assist the ICT Director and senior IT technician in delivering IT projects efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • IT Support: Provide IT support via phone, remote access, or on-site visits to our nurseries and support services.
  • Wi-Fi & Communications: Ensure all nurseries have adequate Wi-Fi and communications, responding quickly to any issues.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain records of work undertaken and respond to IT support requests promptly.
  • Network Maintenance: Perform routine tasks such as maintaining user accounts, installing hardware/software, and ensuring antivirus protection.
  • System Support: Assist in maintaining and supporting management information and finance systems.
  • Issue Identification: Identify recurring IT issues and suggest necessary investments or configuration changes.
  • New Technologies: Support the adoption of new technologies.
  • Supplier Liaison: Coordinate with external suppliers for equipment repair under warranty or maintenance contracts.
  • Software Installation: Assist with installing and testing new software.
  • User Support: Provide help and informal training to users, including creating guidance notes.
  • Project Delivery: Work with project stakeholders to deliver IT projects and initiatives.
  • Health & Safety: Be aware of Health and Safety issues related to IT equipment use and work within company policies.
  • Data Protection: Adhere to Data Protection Act 1998 & GDPR 2018, ensuring confidentiality in all work.
  • Asset Management: Maintain an updated asset register of all hardware and software, ensuring legal licenses.
  • Travel: Travel to nurseries as needed to perform duties.

Success in this role means maintaining a well-managed helpdesk ticket process within internal SLAs, with positive feedback from end users. You will ensure a well-maintained IT infrastructure, effective supplier relationships, and successful project delivery. Staying updated with IT best practices and suggesting improvements will be key.

  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of Microsoft operating systems, networking protocols, VPNs, Windows Terminal Services, SQL Server, and legacy systems.
  • Skills: Excellent problem-solving, communication, time management, and attention to detail.
  • Practical Experience: End user support, multi-site telecommunication management, and IT supplier management.
  • Additional Skills: Experience with Office 365 admin, Windows 11, remote desktop support, and ticketing systems like Fresh Service.
  • Driving Licence: Full driving licence and willingness to travel.
