In-house Commercial Contracts Lawyer

An international law firm is looking to hire an In-house Commercial Contracts Lawyer with 2+ years PQE to join the General Counsel’s office. Ideally this person will be based in Birmingham or Glasgow but other UK locations will be considered.


You will assist the firm in managing the compliance, legal, reputational and commercial risks associated with client engagement terms, client pitches and audits and amendments to the firm’s standard terms.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Review a range of client-facing commercial contracts and deliver risk-sensitive advice – this can be part of client bids, RfPs, panel agreements
  • Work with partners and other lawyers to help negotiate client terms
  • Deliver timely and practical advice to the firm on a range of contractual issues.
  • Supporting with management and co-ordination of client audits.
  • Helping to maintain and update the firm’s own standard terms of business and letters of engagement to manage compliance, legal and commercial risks globally


Key skills:

  • Qualified Solicitor 2+ years PQE
  • Solid commercial contract experience
  • Negotiation and influencing skills
