Eutopia Search are partnering with a well established client looking to recruit an Accountant based in Wellingborough/ Northamptonshire, Hybrid working.


In the position of Accountant you will report into the Senior Financial Accountant supporting all month end duties to include, analyse and maintain various sub-ledgers and assist with the general ledger for all EMEA entities adhering to company accounting standards. Other key duties to include:


  • Ownership of fixed and intangible assets across UK and subsidiaries in Continental Europe
  • Preparation of numerous monthly balance sheet reconciliations across all EMEA businesses
  • Reviewing accounting treatment of all assets to ensure accounting treatment is in line with applicable accounting standards and challenging treatment where necessary
  • Partnering with Finance and IT teams to review projects ensuring costs and captured correctly through the various stages of a project life cycle and reviewed post-go live.
  • Leading annual asset verification project to ensure asset registers are correct through working with various stakeholders within the business.
  • Review postings to general ledger to ensure all necessary capital items are capitalised.
  • Prepare monthly inventory provisions in line with group policy and identify variances in stock ageing profile.
  • Assistance in completion of monthly intercompany reconciliations and investigating variances on a timely basis.
  • Assistance with the interim and year end audit process with preparation of information for external auditors.


The Profile

The successful candidate will ideally be Part Qualified/ Newly qualified or Qualified by experience

Good understanding of business structure and the importance of accuracy of nominal ledger postings

Ability to adhere to tight month end deadlines working under own initiative and collectively as part of a team

Strong problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail and inquisitive nature

Ideally retail, multi-currency, multi-site, & experience of working with European subsidiaries


The Salary

Competitive market base, annual company bonus up to 15%, 25 days plus bank holidays, pension contribution (5% matched), private medical, life assurance plus further benefits
