I’m currently working on behalf of an innovative and forward-thinking technology start-up company based in Sale, Manchester, who is looking to add a Software Product Owner to their dynamic team. This client is at the cutting edge of infrastructure management and environmental monitoring technology, and they’re seeking someone who shares their passion for driving innovation and delivering top-tier solutions to their customers.


The Role:

This position is pivotal to the client’s product development efforts, and they’re looking for a Software Product Owner with a strong background in engineering, manufacturing, ERP systems, or a similar industry. You’ll play a key role in defining and delivering product strategies that align with the company’s mission and business objectives. The role offers excellent prospects for career progression, with a clear pathway to advance into a Senior Product Manager position.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Product Development: You will be responsible for developing and communicating the product vision and strategy, ensuring it aligns with the client’s overall goals.
  • Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Engage closely with engineering, design, sales, and marketing teams to gather insights, prioritise features, and guide the product development process.
  • Agile Leadership: Lead the product development lifecycle using Agile methodologies, managing the backlog, and ensuring that features are delivered on time and to a high standard.
  • Customer Engagement: Regularly interact with customers to gather feedback, understand their needs, and ensure the product delivers maximum value.
  • Industry-Specific Expertise: Leverage your experience in engineering, manufacturing, ERP, or related fields to ensure the product meets industry demands and addresses specific challenges effectively.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Utilise analytics and user feedback to inform product decisions and drive continuous improvement.


Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Proven experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager, particularly within the engineering, manufacturing, ERP, or related sectors.
  • Strong understanding of industry-specific challenges and needs.
  • Experience in Agile/Scrum environments, with a track record of successful product delivery.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams.
  • A passion for innovation and the ability to drive products that make a real impact.
