Position Overview:

The Head of Data will be responsible for developing and executing the data strategy, ensuring the effective use of data across the organization. This role requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of data architecture, analytics, and governance. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in leading data teams and implementing data-driven solutions that drive business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Strategy & Leadership:
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive data strategy aligned with the company’s objectives.
  • Lead and mentor a team of data professionals, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to identify data needs and opportunities for leveraging data to drive business outcomes.
  • Data Management & Governance:
  • Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of robust data architecture and infrastructure.
  • Ensure data quality, integrity, and security across all data assets.
  • Establish and enforce data governance policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Analytics & Insights:
  • Drive the development and implementation of advanced analytics and machine learning models to extract actionable insights from data.
  • Collaborate with business units to identify key metrics and develop reporting frameworks to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Promote the use of data analytics to uncover trends, identify opportunities, and drive strategic initiatives.
  • Innovation & Continuous Improvement:
  • Stay updated on emerging trends and technologies in the data space, and evaluate their potential impact on the business.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the data team.
  • Lead initiatives to improve data processes, tools, and capabilities to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in data management, analytics, and leadership roles.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing data strategies that drive business growth.
  • Strong understanding of data architecture, data governance, and data security best practices.
  • Expertise in data analytics tools and technologies (e.g., SQL, Python, R, Hadoop, Spark, Tableau).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to think strategically and drive cross-functional collaboration.
  • Experience in the [industry/sector] is a plus.
