Our Client
Our client is one of the largest providers of waste collection services with locations across the United Kingdom. With sustainability at the forefront of their position they recover a broad range of materials which are managed safely and to the highest standards. As part of a leading recycling and resource recovery solutions business, the group as a whole operates across 4 core waste streams: Hazardous Materials, Non-Hazardous Materials, Hydrocarbons and General Waste Recycling.
The Role
Our client is now seeking to strengthen its team and drive a positive safety culture through the appointment of this exciting SHEQ Manager position. This is an opportunity to create change and implement best practices within a rapidly growing and dynamic organisation.
Reporting to the Head of Compliance, you will be responsible for creating a positive safety culture and drive compliance by implementing robust policies, procedures, and practices that not only meet but exceed regulatory and industry standards, minimise risks to the environment, safeguard the organisation's reputation, and ensures the highest levels of safety for all stakeholders. Within your remit will be ensuring the effective management and continuous improvement of compliance performance across two locations, surpassing requirements in all areas, including safety, environmental permit compliance, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards, packaging waste management, ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) criteria, and carbon accounting.
To be successful in this role you must have extensive SHEQ experience and carry a certificate of technical competence at any level. Experience working within waste industry is most desirable, however, alternate industries with relevant experience will be considered. More importantly, you can demonstrate strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop effective and positive working relationships within and outside of the department. You are highly focused on delivering results and objectives, logical in approach with the ability to analyse data and formulate action plans.
