About the team

With this role you will have the opportunity to work with the Data Platform Space as we continue to design a modern, first-class platform using cutting-edge technologies such as AWS, Kafka and Exadata.


This client are a global leader in acquiring and you will be tasked with enhancing and extending our capabilities to provide solutions to customers from around the world.


Position Overview

  • The position will initially and primarily focus on specialized areas on the platform. Utilizing skills and experience within the compliance space to produce first class data management solutions.
  • The Data Architect will collaborate closely with cross functional teams, including data engineers, architects and business stakeholders, to define data requirements, establish best practices and drive data architecture initiatives that support our business objectives.
  • The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of data management principles, emerging technologies, industry trends, coupled with strong leadership and communication skills.
  • You will be tasked with creating reliable solution plans that include cost estimates and optimised delivery approaches by working with stakeholders from across the business.
  • Design of scalable, reliable and high performing data architecture solutions that meet business needs and align with strategic objectives.
  • Define and enforce data architecture standards, guidelines and best practices to ensure consistency, quality and security across the platform.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business and technical requirements.
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies, tools and methodologies to enhance data architecture capabilities.
  • Design and implement solutions to ensure data quality, integrity and compliance.
  • Support audit and compliance requirements such as encryption, security and archiving.


What you bring

  • Proven experience as a data architect with a track record of designing and implementing complex data architecture solutions in enterprise environments.
  • Expertise in data modelling, database design and data warehousing concepts.
  • Proficiency in relational and noSQL databases
  • Experience of data governance and data quality management.
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision making skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders and drive consensus.
  • Proven leadership abilities


Added bonus if you have

  • Strong knowledge of cloud based data services.
  • Experience working on high-volume distributed data processing systems.
  • Kafka Connect.
  • Strong experience in big data technologies such as Spark, Kafka
  • Experience of the payments and/or acquiring domain.
