They are currently seeking a talented Tax Associate with 1-4 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) to join their esteemed team.



Position Overview:

The Tax Associate will provide expert legal advice on a range of tax matters, working closely with clients to deliver tailored solutions. This role involves advising on complex tax issues, drafting legal documents, and supporting the firm’s broader corporate and commercial activities. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a thorough understanding of tax legislation, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.



Responsibilities:

  • Advise clients on various tax matters, including corporate tax, VAT, employment tax, and international tax.
  • Assist in structuring transactions to optimise tax efficiency.
  • Draft and review tax-related legal documents, agreements, and policies.
  • Conduct detailed legal research on tax legislation and stay updated on developments in tax law.
  • Provide strategic tax planning advice to clients, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Support the firm’s corporate and commercial teams on tax aspects of mergers, acquisitions, and other transactions.
  • Represent clients in negotiations and dealings with HMRC and other tax authorities.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across different practice areas to provide comprehensive legal advice.
  • Participate in business development activities, including client presentations, seminars, and networking events.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring a high standard of client care and service delivery.
  • Mentor and support junior members of the team.



Qualifications:

  • Qualified solicitor with 1-4 years of post-qualification experience in tax law, preferably gained within a reputable law firm.
  • Strong knowledge of UK tax law and regulations.
  • Excellent legal research, drafting, and negotiation skills.
  • Proven ability to manage a diverse caseload and work to tight deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain client relationships.
  • A proactive and commercially minded approach with a strong client focus.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • High level of professionalism and integrity.
