Role Overview
Our client is seeking a skilled and dedicated Residential Conveyancer to join their growing team. The ideal candidate will have experience in managing a varied caseload of residential property transactions, providing exceptional legal advice and support to clients throughout the conveyancing process.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a Caseload of Residential Property Transactions: Handle a variety of residential conveyancing matters, including freehold and leasehold sales and purchases, re-mortgages, transfers of equity, and shared ownership transactions.
- Draft and Review Legal Documents: Prepare and review all necessary legal documentation related to residential property transactions, such as contracts, transfer deeds, and lease agreements.
- Client Communication: Maintain regular communication with clients, providing clear and concise updates on the progress of their transactions and advising on any issues that arise.
- Liaise with Relevant Parties: Work closely with estate agents, mortgage lenders, and other legal professionals to ensure a smooth and timely conveyancing process.
- Conduct Property Searches and Investigations: Carry out all required property searches, investigations, and due diligence to identify any potential legal issues that could impact the transaction.
- Ensure Compliance with Regulatory Requirements: Adhere to all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards, including Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulations and the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) guidelines.
- Assist in Business Development: Support the firm’s business development efforts by building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and referral sources.
Requirements
- Qualified Solicitor, Licensed Conveyancer, or Chartered Legal Executive in England and Wales.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in residential conveyancing.
- Comprehensive understanding of residential property law, including freehold and leasehold transactions, re-mortgages, transfers of equity, and shared ownership schemes.
- Proven ability to manage a varied caseload independently from instruction through to completion.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain client relationships.
- Proficiency in using conveyancing software and case management systems.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
