About Ignite Hubs

Ignite Hubs is an education charity for children and young people aged 7 to 18 years old. Our mission is to ignite the potential of young minds by widening their horizons and providing them with the skills, connections and experiences to access career-related learning opportunities and prepare them for the future workforce. We currently teach coding and STEM.

We aim to provide the best learning environment for children and young people from all backgrounds and abilities. We place a special emphasis on engaging underrepresented groups, including girls, children with special educational needs, and those from disadvantaged backgrounds. By doing so, we actively work towards narrowing the representation gap in the technology and STEM sectors.

We teach nearly 200 students each week and have positively impacted more than 1,000 children and young people since we started. Our educational offerings include four weekly virtual classes and five weekly in-person classes during term time at various libraries throughout Southwark, SE London.

Our long-term ambition is to offer nationwide classes, workshops and events to children and young people on a wide variety of subjects under our five educational Hubs: Code, STEM, Innovation & Enterprise, Creativity and Health & Wellbeing.

 

Role & Project Details

We are seeking a friendly and talented Videographer to create engaging and informative content. The project involves capturing footage of our classes across four libraries in Southwark and interviewing instructors, parents, and volunteers to showcase the charity’s amazing work and the impact we have on children and young people.

The video will be used on our website, social media channels and promotional materials to help attract more students, gain support from the community and appeal to potential funders.

The libraries are Canada Water, Walworth, Camberwell, and Una Marson. Classes take place Monday through Thursday from 6:15pm to 7:15pm, except for Una Marson Library, which takes place on Saturday from 11am to 12pm, all during the school term time.

Filming will start in late September/early October, we can discuss and agree on the schedule. Over the Summer, we will work together and agree on the storyboard, messages, and footage required.

Other Information:

  • Length of film and use of royalty-free music – e.g. approx. 2-3 minute film, set to complementary music (fully licensed), ambient sound and voiceover to be included where applicable.
  • Subtitles – for accessibility.
  • Alternative shorter cuts – e.g. portrait orientation for Instagram reels and stand alone short clips (5-10 seconds each), with no sound or titles for use as website banners

What we are looking for

  • Demonstrated experience in Videography with a portfolio to showcase your work
  • Excellent video editing and production skills.
  • Great interpersonal skills to interact with children and young people.

Project Fee

  • Please quote your desired fee with your application.
  • Reasonable travelling costs will be covered.
