Job Title: Electrical, Control & Instrumentation Design Engineer (Subsea Equipment)

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and Development: participate in the design and development of electrical and control systems for subsea equipment, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Project Lifecycle Involvement: Participate in all phases of project development, from initial client requirements through to design, installation, testing, and customer acceptance.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical support across various departments, including Sales, Project Management, and Production.
  • System Integration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of electrical, mechanical, and software systems.
  • Documentation: Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and user manuals.
  • Testing and Validation: Conduct factory acceptance testing (FAT) and support on-site commissioning activities.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure all designs adhere to safety standards and regulations, including machinery safety and explosive atmosphere requirements.

Qualifications:
  • Education: BEng (Hons) in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Or demonstrable equivalent work experience

Experience:
  • Skills: Proficiency in design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Inventor), and familiarity with PLC/SCADA systems.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
  • Experience with subsea control systems and knowledge of industry standards (e.g., API, ISO).
  • Familiarity with network communication protocols (e.g., MODBUS, RS485).
  • Experience with sizing and selection of power system components, cables and glands, earthing, and earth bonding
