We are working with a contemporary art gallery based in London who are looking to bring on a Gallery Manager to oversee the team

The ideal candidate for this role will have previous management experience within a gallery setting, alongside experience in fine art shipping.


Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the gallery and ensure smooth operations.
  • Assist with the installation and deinstallation of shows.
  • Organise private views and events at the gallery.
  • Coordinate with external suppliers for exhibitions.
  • Liaise with accountants for financial compliance.
  • Train gallery staff when required.
  • Develop relationships with clients, collectors, and artists and attend and assist at fairs.
  • Manage and update the artwork database and conduct gallery inventory checks.
  • Support post-sale and fair logistics.
  • Prepare consignment, exclusivity, and loan agreements.


Requirements:

  • Previous gallery management or coordination experience is a must-have for this role.
  • Experience with art logistics and shipping is also required for this position.
  • Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities as well as strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle physical tasks for exhibition setup.
  • Attention to detail and financial awareness.
  • Passion for contemporary design.
  • Proficient in Excel and database management.
