PHP Developer - Contract - inside IR35 - 6 months - hybrid (one day per week) - South Coast

Our client are looking for a developer to join our team. This person will work with engineers locally and globally to contribute to the development and maintenance of our ecommerce platform.

You will be working with Agile teams as a shared service to build new functionality. You will build new functionality from initial solution design, through development, code reviews, documentation, launch and troubleshooting alongside supporting the current codebase, reducing technical debt and modernising.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Write and deploy working, performant and secure code to production
  • Support, maintain and evolve existing and new production systems
  • Collaborate with all other technologists to define architecture & strategy
  • Contributing in agile ceremonies and planning
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers & DevOps to implement workflows, automated testing, and anything else it takes to get quality code to production

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

  • 5+ years experience with one or more of these server-side languages: PHP, Node, Typescript
  • 5+ years experience with MySQL/MariaDB or similar required
  • 3-5 years experience running applications on AWS, including using queue and serverless infrastructure
  • Demonstrable experience writing automated tests using an appropriate testing framework
  • Demonstrable experience with Git
  • Comfortable working on the command line.
  • Technical background – experienced in engineering principles and design patterns.
  • Ability to follow instructions as well as work independently from requirements
  • Strong communication skills with excellent interpersonal effectiveness.
  • Strongly preferred
  • Demonstrable experience working in more than one language server-side
  • Demonstrable experience with the Laravel framework
