Computer Science Teacher needed for a Secondary School in Portsmouth

We are pleased to partner with a well-regarded mainstream secondary school in Portsmouth as they seek a highly qualified and enthusiastic Computer Science Teacher. This full-time, permanent position commences in September and presents an outstanding opportunity for an individual passionate about equipping students with essential digital literacy skills for the 21st century.

The Role

As a Computer Science Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in fostering a deep understanding of computer science principles and their practical applications. You will guide students through the national curriculum, inspiring a lifelong interest in this dynamic field.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and deliver engaging and challenging Computer Science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Develop and implement creative lesson plans that align with the school's curriculum objectives and cater to diverse learning styles.
  • Assess student progress through formative and summative assessments, providing constructive feedback to support their academic growth.
  • Collaborate with colleagues within the Computer Science department to share best practices and enhance the quality of teaching and learning.
  • Stay abreast of technological advancements and emerging trends in Computer Science education to ensure your teaching remains relevant and cutting-edge.

Qualifications and Experience
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification recognized in the UK.
  • Proven experience teaching Computer Science at the secondary school level.
  • A strong understanding of programming languages, algorithms, data structures, and other core computer science concepts.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students and inspire them to achieve their best.
