Job description

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join their team on a contract basis. This role is based in the water industry and involves working on essential projects for Yorkshire Water and United Utilities. The position is inside IR35 and is a 12-month contract, offering hybrid working arrangements from the Leeds/Manchester office.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Designing electrical systems and components for water industry projects
  • Producing and reviewing technical drawings and specifications
  • Ensuring electrical designs comply with relevant codes and standards
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver project requirements
  • Conducting site visits to evaluate existing systems and gather data
  • Providing technical support throughout the project lifecycle
  • Managing documentation and design changes
  • Ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget
Job Requirements:
  • Experience in electrical design within the water sector
  • Proficiency in using electrical design software and tools
  • Understanding of electrical codes, standards, and regulations
  • Strong technical and analytical skills
  • Ability to produce accurate and detailed technical documentation
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities
  • Capability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
  • Relevant engineering degree or equivalent qualification
