Reporting to the Managing Director

 

We are looking for a technical manager with strong engineering and/or technical background.

As a key part of the leadership team, you will be responsible for supporting customers with more complex technical enquires.

 

In addition to supporting the strategy of the business, you will be responsible for leading your team to provide our customers with solutions and first class customer service.

 

We are looking for a an experienced people leader with an enquiring mind who possesses a great attention to detail with the ability to motivate the team, ensuing outputs are right first time.

 

The aim of the business is to be the best we possibly can be and a standard by which others measure themselves and this new role is being established at a very exciting time of our growth strategy to support our customers further.

 

 

Background

 

Duncan Rogers (Engineering) Ltd, established in 1974, is now a major distributor of pneumatic and hydraulic components supplying a wide range of products to a large and diverse customer base including manufacturing and processing industry and trade/resale UK wide and beyond.

 

 

 Responsibilities

  • Managing the technical enquires team
  • Finding value add solutions for customers
  • Maximising business opportunities
  • Checking the quality of all output and communications with customers and suppliers
  • Ensure that all enquiries are dealt with quickly and intelligently.
  • Working collaboratively with the sales team and other colleagues
  • Providing excellent customer service
  • Exploring options to grow the business


Requirements

  • An experienced people leader
  • Experience in a similar or related industry
  • Prepared to be hands on and to cover for staff absences holidays etc
  • Willingness to ask questions and investigate anomalies.
  • Experience of IT
  • Ability to learn about the company’s products and ranges
  • Attention to detail
  • Numerical abilities and problem-solving attitude
  • Background and/or interest in engineering
