The role

Our client is hiring a full-time Finance assistant to be respoonsible for Accounts Payable and recievables at their Dagenham office. This role manages day-to-day accounting tasks from purchase ledgers, payment processing, cash flow updates, sales administration, and analysis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up supplier accounts and banking portals in ERP system
  • Handle all purchase ledger activities
  • Process/analyse duty, shipping, warehouse charges, and claims
  • Reconcile credit cards
  • Generate occasional sales invoices
  • Reconcile automated sales receipt payment files
  • Review and process employee expense claims
  • Update cash flow plans and post bank transactions
  • Request and reconcile supplier statements
  • Generate aged payables reports with notes
  • Add fixed assets and prepaid deferral schedules
  • Track facilities expenses like utilities and cleaning
  • Manage customs, deferment accounts, office supplies
  • Assist with purchasing and stock control as needed
  • Other administrative analysis and ad hoc duties

Job Requirements

  • Previous experience working in transactional finance role
  • Expertise with accounting software like ERP systems
  • Excellent numeracy and analytical skills
  • High attention to detail and organisational abilities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Effective communication and time management skills
  • Ability to prioritise and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
