Introduction:

We are partnering with a global financial services firm that is recruiting for a Head of Transformation – Strategy & Planning. This senior leadership role sits within a centralised Project & Change Management group and focuses on driving significant change and transformation within the business.

In this role, you will lead one of the most ambitious and complex transformations the organisation has ever undertaken. You will be responsible for orchestrating and coordinating a substantial portfolio of initiatives, ensuring they are meticulously planned, scheduled, and executed with precision. Our client is seeking a leader with the gravitas, strategic insight, and operational experience to navigate and deliver a highly complex transformation roadmap.

Key Responsibilities:

As the Head of Transformation – Strategy & Planning, you will lead a dedicated team responsible for developing, managing, and maintaining a comprehensive transformation schedule. This will involve overseeing key interdependencies, managing ongoing and upcoming change initiatives, and ensuring the organisation is fully prepared for smooth implementation. You will also coordinate release management, operational readiness, third-party integration, and regulatory compliance.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Establishing Planning Standards: Develop and enforce robust planning standards across the business to ensure all initiatives are delivered according to schedule, and take corrective action when deviations occur.
  • Business Readiness: Enhance and sustain business readiness mechanisms, ensuring the organisation is consistently prepared to support and absorb change.
  • Subject Matter Expert (SME) Engagement: Refine and improve SME engagement strategies to ensure their involvement is well-planned and effectively contributes to the success of initiatives.
  • Strategic Review & Adjustment: Lead quarterly reviews of the transformation agenda to assess its feasibility and make necessary adjustments to meet evolving business objectives.
  • Executive Reporting: Present complex plans and roadmaps in a clear, concise, and impactful manner to senior leadership and executives.

Skills and Experience:

Our client is seeking a candidate with the following qualifications and attributes:

  • Expertise in Planning and Scheduling: A seasoned professional with extensive experience in planning and scheduling large-scale transformations, utilising industry-standard methodologies.
  • Strategic Pragmatism: A pragmatic approach, with the ability to balance strategic planning with the discipline required to manage an intricate and interconnected portfolio.
  • Proven Change Delivery: A track record of successfully delivering change in a sophisticated and complex business environment, ideally within financial services or insurance.
  • Exceptional Stakeholder Management: Excellent partner management skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders, manage relationships, and resolve complex issues at the highest level.
  • Commercial Acumen: Strong commercial awareness and outstanding analytical skills, enabling you to assess risks, identify opportunities, and ensure decisions are grounded in sound financial and operational insight.
