We leverage our team’s defence experience and technology expertise with cross-industry partnerships in the field of advanced maritime engineering. Our market ready platform, VICTA, is an optionally crewed / payload carrying dual-domain platform designed to operate at speed over range, capable of rapid transition beneath the surface to operate submerged, enabling the discreet delivery of effects within contested waters. It is a unique, innovative British platform focused primarily on the defence market but with utility beyond.

Responsibilities will include:
Providing legal advice and expertise in areas such as:
- Acting as a liaison between the technology department and external patent lawyers to ensure appropriate protection and maintenance of patent and trademark protection
- Drafting and advising on IPR in commercial contracts and procurement contracts
- Maintaining an internal database of IP
- Negotiating Licensing agreements, providing input into
Qualifications and Experience:
- Qualified Solicitor with at least 3 years PQE
- Mixture of private practice & in house experience preferred
- Experience in patent law, design rights, copyright and other IPR with an emphasis on Joint ventures, shared IP and innovative solutions, R&D agreements, academic research etc.
- Commercially focussed with a strong curiosity to learn the business
- Defence R&D experience hugely valued.
- Technical excellence required but communication and negotiation skills also essential to succeed in this role.
- Must be able to prioritise effectively and manage both independent work and collaboration across different business teams.
Note: Due to the nature of work undertaken at SubSea Craft, the selected candidate must be capable of meeting the security requirements of the position, which would include as a minimum Existing right to live and work in the UK, Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS), with Security Check likely for specific projects.*
