Our client is a leading auto centre chain with a reputation for excellent service, transparent pricing, and getting you back on the road quickly and safely is looking to add an Excellent Senior Vehicle Technician to join their team in Rotherham.


As a Senior Workshop Technician, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of our workshop, ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality. This role requires a blend of advanced technical skills, leadership qualities, and the ability to manage a team of workshop technicians and testers. You will work closely with the Customer Services Advisor to optimise workflows and ensure exceptional customer satisfaction.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and empower a team of technicians: This emphasises the creation of a strong team and fostering their abilities.
  • Oversee staffing and schedule development: This focuses on your role in planning and ensuring the right people are available for the job.
  • Optimise workflow and task allocation: This highlights your responsibility for streamlining tasks and assigning them efficiently.
  • Champion quality and safety: This emphasises your focus on maintaining high standards and a safe work environment.
  • Manage workshop resources and inventory: This clarifies your responsibility for keeping the workshop, well-stocked with necessary supplies.
  • Cultivate a safety-conscious culture: This emphasises your role in training and promoting safety practices.
  • Navigate customer concerns alongside service advisors: This focuses on your collaboration with customer service to resolve issues.
  • Uphold rigorous MOT compliance: This simplifies the language around MOT standards.
  • Ensure quality control through inspections: This clarifies your role in ensuring completed work meets expectations.
  • Optimize inventory levels for budget and operational needs: This combines stock management with budget awareness.
  • Evaluate team performance and provide feedback: This rephrases your responsibility for conducting performance reviews.
  • Maintain and calibrate equipment for peak performance: This emphasises keeping equipment in top condition.
  • Collaborate with service advisors to meet deadlines and customer expectations: This emphasises working together to achieve customer satisfaction.

Skills Needed:

  • Advanced technical skills and experience working in an automotive workshop environment.
  • Strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate, coach, and develop a team.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
  • A commitment to health and safety regulations and procedures.
  • Inventory management experience.
  • Proficiency in using workshop equipment and tools.
  • The ability to work independently while also being a strong team player.
  • A meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
  • Full UK driving license.



Additional Information:

• Full driving license required.

• A minimum of 3 years of experience is desired.

• Level 3 and/or MOT qualification desired.
