Based in Surrey/London 2-4 Days in the Office

Up to £80k basic + 20% Bonus, 15% Pension, 27 Days Holiday + Excellent Benefits

This role will suit a highly motivated and experienced Backup and Storage Engineer who thrives in a dynamic and challenging environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in storage and backup solutions, particularly with NetBackup & NetApp systems, and will be passionate about ensuring data integrity and availability within enterprise environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and manage storage and backup solutions, focusing on NetApp technologies.
  • Monitor and maintain storage infrastructure to ensure high availability, performance, and reliability.
  • Perform capacity planning, reporting, and monitoring to reinforce capacity, availability, and efficiency.
  • Manage and optimize storage systems, including NetApp FAS, E & EF Series, utilizing ONTAP & 7-Mode, and StorageGRID 9x.
  • Administer backup solutions such as Veritas NetBackup, Backup Exec, and HP Data Protector.
  • Utilize NetApp Snapshot technology including SnapManager, SnapMirror, SnapRestore, SnapVault, SnapDrive, and SnapCenter.
  • Provide support for disaster recovery and data protection initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate storage solutions with cloud platforms like Azure and AWS.
  • Maintain documentation and ensure compliance with industry best practices and security standards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve storage-related issues in a timely manner.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Storage Engineer or similar role, with a strong focus on NetApp systems.
  • Proficiency in data center storage and backup architecture solutions.
  • Hands-on experience with NetApp FAS, E & EF Series, ONTAP, and 7-Mode.
  • Knowledge of HP Storage Systems (XP & EVA) and Dell EMC Storage Systems (CLARiiON, VNX, VMAX & PMAX).
  • Expertise in Veritas Backup Solutions (NetBackup & Backup Exec) and HP Backup Solutions (Data Protector).
  • Familiarity with cloud technologies, including Azure and AWS.
  • Solid understanding of VMware, Microsoft, and Linux OS’s within enterprise storage environments.
  • Experience with hyper-converged infrastructure, such as vSAN and VxRail.
  • Strong knowledge of data protection and disaster recovery strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Certifications such as ITIL V3, AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate, and Information Storage Associate V2 are a plus.
