About the Job

Responsible for operating Remotely Operated Subsea Drilling units, Subsea Tooling and intervention equipment in a safe and efficient manner, and maintaining and repairing all electronic, electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems and sub-systems associated with same including component repair, replacement and troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities

Onshore

Liaise with various team members and operations department onshore to assist with development of offshore procedures as and when required to ensure all aspects of the operations offshore are well understood and discussed in detail with the relevant.

Attend pre-mobilisation meetings and workshops as required.

Perform planned maintenance/repairs/project preparation on equipment: maintain/ repair electronics, maintain/ repair hydraulics, maintain/repair mechanics, use test equipment, calibrate, and align equipment, and perform general housekeeping and corrosion control.

Keep detailed planned maintenance and strategic spares inventory records for equipment spread.

Offshore 

Providing leadership during operations being undertaken to ensure the safe completion of the task with prevention of technical issues and ensuring that all QHSE and project records are a focus.

Operate equipment to include cameras (video and still), acoustic positioning systems, sonars, manipulators (robotic arms), LARS (Launch and Recovery Systems), hydraulic power units, complex subsea tooling, surface, and subsea workover systems.

Assist or pilot the Subsea Robotic Drill including evaluating the environment conditions and hazards and manage the safe launch and recovery of the equipment, monitoring all aspects of the equipment spread at all times.

Manage the interface with the ROV in attendance and work closely with the ROV pilots to clearly define the requirements from them and their equipment.

Perform maintenance/repairs on equipment: maintain/ repair electronics, maintain/ repair hydraulics, maintain/repair mechanics, use test equipment, calibrate, and align equipment, and perform general housekeeping and corrosion control.

Operate and repair electrical over hydraulic and direct hydraulic control systems that interact with pumps, valves and other hydraulic transmission and power equipment.

Maintains parts and supplies inventory associated with all electrical, electronic, mechanical, and hydraulic assemblies and subassemblies.

About You

We’d love to hear from you if your career profile meets the following essential requirements:

Nationally recognised technical or trade qualification and / or appropriate level national vocational qualification in one or more of the following subjects: electrical, electronics, hydraulics, mechanics.

5 + year’s experience in offshore environment (Oil & gas, geotechnical drilling or offshore wind.

Must have regionally mandated offshore work requirement documents as appropriate.

Good written and oral communication skills (English)

Good IT skills
