The Role

As a Tag Management Analyst, you will support the management of Adobe Analytics tracking across our websites and web applications, to ensure the data provided via the Adobe reporting tool and via Clickstream is accurate and reliable for all users.

The role primarily involves writing tagging specification documents, coding custom snippets within a tag management tool, configuring the analytics tool itself and building tests and alerts to continually monitor the outputted data.

The work serves the business (primarily our Product Catalogue) but is a part of an Online & Omnichannel (O&O) function. You will be partnering with the Marketing and other internal analysts and support the delivery of the vision set out by the Lead Visualisation analyst to bring our data to life.

Key responsibilities:

  • Work with Marketing, Product Owners, and engineers to understand reporting requirements and make recommendations, based on business experience and balancing cost against benefit.
  • Write clear, detailed tagging specifications, following an existing template, with example code snippets and expected output.
  • Make changes in Tealium tag management system to ensure the tagging will result in the required output into Adobe Analytics and the wider Tealium Data Layer, for consumption by other 3rd party tags (e.g., CDP)
  • Configure Tealium, to map the data into Adobe Analytics dimensions and metrics.
  • Configure Adobe dimensions and metrics to give the required reporting output. Configure processing rules and classifications to augment raw data, were useful.
  • Discuss reporting output with stakeholders to ensure understanding and hand over to O&O analysts when deeper analysis is needed.
  • Build Observe point audits and rules to test the tracking on an ongoing basis. Configure alerts in Observe Point and/or Adobe, to pro-actively highlight missing/incorrect data.
  • Have a presence within the analytical and reporting community and answer queries relating to implementation.

Your Profile

Key skills/knowledge/experience:

  • Proficient in Javascript and HTML.
  • Excellent documentation skills with experience of writing tagging specifications.
  • Good communication skills. Ability to explain technical concepts in layman’s terms.
  • Good experience with an enterprise level analytics tool (GA4, Adobe Analytics, or similar).
  • Excellent attention to detail and focus on accuracy.
  • Self-sufficient attitude. Keen to conduct investigations and research, to find answers to problems.

Good to have:

  • Experience writing extensions within a tag management tool (Tealium, Ensighten, Adobe Launch).
  • Experience tracking Single Page Application (SPA).
  • Experience in a retail environment.
  • Understanding of JIRA system for job management.
  • Knowledge of digital A/B testing approaches and tracking issues.
